GRATITUDE…an emotion of being thankfulOn this special day … I was feeling so exceptional and was on cloud nine … so much so that I was glowing even without makeup…😉 On this day everything that I loved was given to me and many things that I did not even expect or think of happened…I felt like a Queen 👸 in a fairytale…then alas … it just hit me so hard when I realised how many people had taken the efforts to make my Birthday 🎉 such a dream day for me….
As the day ended the feeling of accomplishment was overwhelming and I felt very blessed thats when I actually started counting my blessings…and it was just around that time my dearest friend Kavitha called me to give me some food for thought … she said that I should do something special in return for all those wonderful people who had made my day so Special and Memorable.
As I was trying to navigate as to how I should start this and then I remembered a verse from Ralph Waldo Emerson saying:
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
How many of us really are grateful??
To me Gratitude is an emotion of being thankful … being thankful makes us feel so contented that you actually become selfless and there is no expectations set in return for every action we do. Most of us get so engrossed in our routine lives; every thing we do is so materialistic that sometimes we tend to loose out on all the intangibles … is it because we take everything around us for granted…???
I think this may be the reason why we celebrate some special days in our lives like birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc to have a focused thought and have sense of gratefulness and be thankful.
I dedicate this blog to all the people who made my Birthday this year so special.
